Support the Higher Education Chaplaincy
within the Archdiocese of Southwark.
Higher Education Chaplaincy at its best provides a place of hospitality and welcome for staff and students studying within Higher Education whilst also offering them the opportunity to get to know and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ lived out in the Church.
We aim to do this by running events both on campus and off campus that are open to all in Higher Education. We invest in resources that enable us to run courses, and attend courses that help form both the students and the chaplains. We also when necessary invest in resources to help celebrate liturgies on campus. Hospitality (food, drink at events) is one key aspect of our ministry as well as organising a supporting students and staff to take part in local, diocesan, national and international events when they can and all need your support. We want no-one to be excluded from our events for financial reasons so offer bursaries when we can to enable all to attend.
Whilst the main support for our work is prayer, and we depend on your prayers for our ministry, we also need financial support if you are able. Below are some of the specific funds you can donate to. Each year we run or take part in events whether on campus, within the Archdiocese, nationally and sometimes even internationally. Your donation enables us to ensure that we reduce the cost for all who want to take part but particularly those in most need.
One of the key aspects of chaplaincy in Higher Education is that of offering hospitality, whether that be light refreshments at a meeting, a meal after an event or pizza etc during a gathering of students and chaplains.
To grow in our knowledge of understanding of our Catholic faith is a lifelong journey. To be supported to do this whilst in Higher Education is a real gift. Both Chaplains and students are in need of ongoing formation and this fund will support both.
